Le Marche, one of the most beautiful regions of Italy
Le Marche is also referred to as the best kept secret of Italy, and is a region that has everything you could wish for. Le Marche is located between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennines in Italy. In Le Marche you will find mountains, beaches, beautiful old towns and charming villages, but also untouched nature. It is reminiscent of Tuscany, but here you can still find the peace, space and purity. The perfect setting to experience and enjoy Italy.
Nobody can remain insensitive to the specialties of La Mama, for the hours of dining and for the love with which everything is prepared. For an Italian, dinner with the family is of great importance. Wouldn't it be wonderful to dive into this food culture for a week ? To get acquainted with the authentic Italian cuisine and all the delicacies and customs that accompany them ? No region lends itself better for this. Le Marche excels in specialties, from meats to truffles and from olive oil to grappa.
Authentic fortified villages in the immediate vicinity where time has stood still.
This town has the best preserved fortress walls from the 15th century and is located in the Verdicchio wine region.

In this city, known for the red Lacrima wine, are still many remains from the past, including the vaulted ramparts.
This village and his 2 other neighbouring resorts Portonovo and Numana are located on the Conero riviera with beautifull small beaches surronded by cliffs.
Fano is known as a seaside resort, but also for its ancient walled city with beautiful historic buildings. A gate which was built in the year 9, is still on display. Fano also offers a monthly antiques market, jazz concerts and so on.
In Senigallia you have many choices: an old town with many terraces, ancient monuments and buildings, large sandy beach, indoor shopping centre, excellent seafood restaurants, etc.
Since September 1974 a part of the caves is open for visit. There is a 1.5 km long route plotted over wide hiking trails and spacious stairs. These tours are led by a guide in Italian, French, English or German. The caves have become a major tourist attraction of the Marche region.
In the direct neighbourhood ot the caves there are Tempio del Valadier, a chapel in the rocks and the abbeys Abbazia di San Vittore del Chiuse and Abbazia di Santa Corce in Sentinum from the 11th and 12th century.
The Monte Cucco Cave extends more than 30 kilometres and it is more than 900 meters deep. It is one of the most important underground systems in Europe and it is certainly one of the most studied caves in the world. This natural attraction that until now could be explored only by expert cavers, is open, for 800 meters long, to anyone who wishes to live a unique experience.
Ancona is a city with seaport, located on the Adriatic Sea and is the capital of the Marche region and of the province of the same name. Ancona is situated at the slopes of the two extremities of the promontory of Monte Conero: Monte Astagno, with the citadel, and Monte Guasco, where the 90 meters high Duomo stands.
The historic centre of Urbino is part of the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites. The most important monument is the fifteenth-century Palazzo Ducale with its distinctive towers on the front. The building also houses the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche. In addition to the Palazzo Ducale, there are many other attractions, including the Duomo di Urbino (main church) and the Oratory of St. John the Baptist (Oratorio di s. Giovanni Battista).
The historic centre of Gubbio is part of the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites.The 13th-century duomo is carried by graceful arches representing praying hands. Furthermore, there is the Palazzo dei Consoli in the city: a 14th-century palace that determines the silhouette of Gubbio.
The main tourist attraction of the city of Assisi is the Basilica of San Francesco. This church was built in the 13th century on the tomb of St. Francis. It consists of crypt, lower and upper church. The church was placed in 2000 on the World Heritage List of UNESCO.
It is impossible to mention all picturesque corners, beautiful churches and city gates of Perugia. Indeed, on virtually every street corner you run against them. It is therefore a city you must visit on foot.

On Monte Catria is the monastery of Fonte Avellana housing Dante’s library.
In the region around the Gola del Furlo, there are a lot of natural swimming pools which provide a place to escape the crowds and cool off from the summer heat (maps & locations available at our casa).
You can plan a day out in the Italian capital Rome. It can be easily reached by train from Fabriano.

There is the possibility to take a guided tour on a quad bike (2 persons per bike), starting in an agriturismo at 5 km from our casa.
There are a lot of natural reserves in the wider environment - we have lots of documented & described tracks.
It is of course also possible to make relaxing walks in the immediate vicinity of Casa dei Sogni d'Oro.

In spring and autumn the temperature in Le Marche is perfect for cycling. The easiest, of course, is to bring your own bike, but it is also possible to rent a bicycle (also E-bike), regardless of whether it is a mountain or a road bike.

There are a lot of restaurants in the neighborhood and these are relatively inexpensive. Here you can still get delicious meals for little money. And then I mean really eating out ! Delicious antipasti, homemade pasta, pizzas from the wood oven, delectable desserts and also don't forget to enjoy the famous Verdicchio wine. Here you can still enjoy La bella Italia!
The guests are always pleasantly surprised at the quality of the wines from the Marche region.
There is indeed much more produced than the classic Verdicchio and Rosso Piceno.
There are some unique wines such as Rosé Spumante, Moscato and Balsamino.
We offer weekly opportunity for a tour and tasting at our preferred winery Venturi in Castelleone.
On request, you can use the professional kitchen after the tasting and prepare a meal in team under the expert guidance of Véronique with her experience as a cook.
When you stay in Le Marche in June, you can be witness of the Giro d'Italia. A number of stages goes generally through this area.
Virtually every city, town and village in Le Marche has a food or wine festival, also known as Sagra.
